Barack Obama Woos Earnest Canadaphiles and Ex-Zine Editors
Remember that sneaky move Barack Obama's campaign pulled in Indiana, luring college students away from a Clinton rally by handing out Dave Matthews tickets? Well, they're at it again in North Carolina…Obama's staff has organized concerts for early May in Greensboro and Chapel Hill featuring two popular indie rock bands, The Arcade Fire and Superchunk, hoping to lure college-aged voters away from their dorms to early voting locations, before they turn their attention to final exams.
I guess that's how much faith Barack Obama has in his supporters: he's afraid they won't pay attention to him unless he hooks them up with concert tickets. Does he really think young people care more about rock shows than the issues? Shame on you, Barack Obama.
On the other hand, the musical bait does seem to be getting better. Tell you what, Barack. If you can reunite Sleater-Kinney, the only issues left on my mind will be how totally freaking rad you are and how quickly I can get to a voting booth to elect you president of the world.
