House Republicans are Going to Make You Feel Real Even

Hang onto your hats, everyone! House Republicans have a new slogan. No, not, "More shrimp, Jose!" Most of them filled up on crab cakes at the campaign kickoff cocktail hour, after all.

Let's let them break it:

"Through our 'Change You Deserve' message and through our "American Families Agenda," House Republicans will continue our efforts to speak directly to an American public looking for leaders who will offer real solutions for the challenges they confront every day."

Hm. "Change You Deserve." Where have I heard that before?

No, not from the terrorists. Somewhere else…

What the GOP doesn't seem to realize, because they are idiots, is that "the change you deserve" is the registered advertising slogan of Effexor XR, a drug that many of you might have started taking as a result of all the…you know — terrorism. (Hat tip to Bluestem for catching this gem.)

Effexor, also known as Venlafaxine, is approved for the treatment "of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder in adults."

You know, call me crazy, but I think there might be something funny in the GOP lifting their campaign slogan from a popular antidepressant, but I just can't quite tease it out. I'm gonna go think about it for a few days. In the meantime, please enjoy this watercolor I painted today:
