It's official. John Edwards is endorsing Barack Obama…
The Obama campaign confirms Edwards will endorse Obama at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan Wednesday. The event was originally scheduled to start at 7pmET, but was moved up to 6:20pmET, presumably to have the announcement make the evening news.
Because, what the hell? It doesn't matter now anyway.
All the useless three minute long speculation can be seen after the jump.
The Obama campaign just moved its evening event up to 6:30 for what reporters are being told is a big endorsement.
Time's The Page has similar information, but also includes a picture of Obama standing next to John Edwards, who has still yet to endorse a candidate.
Except the information was slightly less similar a few minutes ago when The Page's page looked like this and included this extra sentence…
Radio silence from six senior Obama officials when asked directly by The Page: "Is John Edwards endorsing Barack Obama today?"
One DKos commenter isn't believing that hype…
My source (legit) says it's NOT Edwards… This is a well-known journalist with a blog you all know, he says he thinks Halperin's wrong.
And this prognosticating comment seems highly unlikely, but would make all of our heads collectively explode…
Hillary! I've said before that the widespread announcement that Obama can declare victory on May 20 was designed to give Hillary a window in which to have a victory in West Virginia and then bow out. Better to leave that way than to be unceremoniously declared out on May 20th.
Since people are just throwing out predictions irrespective of likelihood, I'm gonna go ahead and make this prediction.
I can feel it in my bones.
