• Barack Obama Mentioned in News Almost Four Times as Often as Other Guy

    According to conservative website The Next Right, there's something fishy going on in the left-leaning main stream media.

    Stories about Barack Obama are flooding the internet, while stories about his political opponent are nearly non-existent

    I searched for stories that mentioned Obama but didn't mention [the Republican candidate] in Google News. 69,473 stories.

    And stories that mention [whatshisface] but not Obama? 19,135.

    That's a stunning 3.63 to 1 ratio.

    Just looking around this site, I find that hard to believe. But numbers don't lie.

    How can Barack Obama be mentioned by name in the media nearly four times as often as the old dude he's running against?

    Seems like some kind of a liberal conspiracy to me.

    Update: From nitpicker in the comments of the original Next Right post (thanks to dan from our own comments)…

    Do you have any actual concept of media analysis? Just because more stories are written about Obama don't mean that's a good thing. Using your methodology, you also find these results:

    * Obama + Muslim – McCain: 3,634
    * Obama + Rezko – McCain: 1,423
    * Obama + "jeremiah wright" – McCain: 2,285

    Also, TheNextRight itself seems to be a hotbed of liberal bias.

    * Obama + site:www.thenextright.com – McCain: 1380
    * McCain + site:www.thenextright.com – Obama: 494

    Please be smarter…
