A Shocking Revelation About John McCain's Latest Campaign Scandal Shocker

You guys better be buckled up with your trays in the locked or upright position, because I'm about to throw some mindblowing political turbulence your way: a McCain campaign finance co-chair is stepping down because he's under investigation for something or other.

I know, what are the odds?!

This rare, once-in-a-political-lifetime occurrence involves Jim Courter, a New Jersey congressman-turned-telecom CEO. The FCC seems upset about something his company, IDT, may or may not have been doing in Haiti.

When Vanity Fair contacted McCain staffers for comment yesterday, they were understandably unprepared. After all, it's not like anything like this has ever happened before. Then they issued a statement that made it sound as if people were concerned about Courter's neckwear…

A McCain spokesman seemed caught off guard by the news of IDT's troubles when VF Daily called for comment this morning. The spokesman called back a few hours later to inform us that Courter was "withdrawing his involvement in our fundraising efforts as a result of the growing interest in his business ties."

Actually, what I'm interested in is Courter's uncanny resemblance to Kevin Nealon. Seriously — the guy looks just like him. Have they ever been seen in the same room at the same time? Why hasn't anyone else mentioned this?

I smell a media conspiracy.
