• McCain Campaign More Fun Than a Barrel of Comedically Retarded Monkeys

Photo via LM Otero/APYou might not have heard of Steve Duprey, but folks on John McCain's campaign know him as the Presidential contender's "court jester," livening up the campaign trail with a series of hilarious shenanigans that are known to leave Mac in stitches

Duprey… [has] evolved into the campaign's "chief morale officer," as he describes it. "I try to bring a little levity to the situation and make sure that, to the degree we can, we're enjoying this campaign."

But what does it take to make the possible leader of the free world laugh? Satirical references to Obama's evolving stance on Rev. Wright? Broad lampooning of the the political left's failure to cure society's ills through increased government spending? Not even close.

Apparently, John McCain likes his humor like his foreign policy: simplistic and resulting in much suffering. For example, take this classic bit of Duprey gold, delivered the day after McCain flubbed a major speech in New Orleans…

Duprey… got up from his seat and began handing out candy to campaign aides. Soon everyone aboard was cracking up: Duprey was decked out in a skimpy rainbow bikini — or, rather, a T shirt painted to look like one, front and, ahem, back… McCain, perched in his usual spot up front, rolled his eyes and shook his head, a wide grin on his face.

But Dupree is no one trick pony, and some campaign insiders speculate that Duprey has more gags up his sleeve for the coming weeks — each specifically tailored to McCain's future political failures…
