Joe Biden Hires Unrepentant Economist to be His Li'l Numbers Buddy

Vice president elect Joe Biden, sick of being ignored, has taken aim at the headlines by hiring himself a "Chief Economist and Economic Policy Director to the Vice President." This is a job he invented just now, to get attention.

And the lucky wonk tapped to be Uncle Joe's CE&EPDttVP? Why, that would be Jared Bernstein, a director at the Economic Policy Institute, which sounds neutral and boring but is actually tanked up with labor liberals. Bernstein's own leftist rantings can be seen here and here (Caution: That last link leads to the leftist liberal media blog Talking Points Memo). Even more shocking? His Ph.D isn't even in economics at all, it's in social welfare, which is (you guessed it) the how-to study of Socialist welfare states.

Jared Bernstein's economic policy advice to Joe Biden will consist of him singing "Solidarity Forever" and "Casey Jones" while chaining himself to fences, which he will then redistribute to illegal immigrants.
