• Michael Steele Promises Not to Apologize for Anymore of the GOP's Mistakes

Michael Steele — and Republicans in general — are understandably tired of being forced to apologize for, um, well… everything.

But no more! A new, unapologetic day is dawning

"The era of apologizing for Republican mistakes of the past is now officially over. It is done," Steele said in remarks prepared for delivery Tuesday to state party chairmen.

"We have turned the page, we have turned the corner. No more looking in the rearview mirror. From this point forward, we will focus all of our energies on winning the future."

I think that's a smart move for the GOP. Start focusing on the future — preferably way in the future, after everybody associated with the current party is long gone, California and New York have fallen into the sea, and the biggest problems Americans face is being harvested for protein by Morlocks — because the present is looking pretty fucking awful

Gallup Poll: GOP Losses Span Nearly All Demographic Groups

The decline in Republican Party affiliation among Americans in recent years is well documented, but a Gallup analysis now shows that this movement away from the GOP has occurred among nearly every major demographic subgroup. Since the first year of George W. Bush's presidency in 2001, the Republican Party has maintained its support only among frequent churchgoers, with conservatives and senior citizens showing minimal decline.

Yeah, if I were head of the RNC, I'd prefer responding to subterranean humanoid flesh-eaters to responding to that poll, too.
