Supreme Court Won't Hear, Won't Rule on DADT Challenge
Not that anyone suspected any different, but it's still depressing…The Supreme Court today declined to hear a constitutional challenge to the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" policy banning openly gay people from serving in the U.S. military, a move that could effectively leave it to the Obama administration to resolve the long-controversial issue.
Well, that shouldn't be a problem. Since Obama was so outspoken in his support for ending DADT during the campaign last year, I'm sure he'll be doing everything in his power to resolve this controversy as soon as possible…
The Obama administration had asked the high court not to take the case, and White House officials had said they would not object to homosexuals being kicked out of the armed services.
That certainly is one way of resolving the controversy.
