The Republican Party has has a long and storied history of paying very close attention to people's wants and needs and then responding in turn.
For example, after Hillary Clinton's historic 2008 campaign nearly made her the first female presidential candidate, the GOP thought long and hard and then gave everyone Sarah Palin. Then, a few months later, when the country decided that it would elect Barack Obama, the GOP ascertained that everyone likes black people now, so they gave us Michael Steele.
Now that everyone's got this whole bee in their bonnet over gay people supposedly being actual people who should be treated like people, the GOP is quick to respond…
Massachusetts Republican gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Baker has picked an openly gay running mate…
"It is not exactly a news flash," [State Senate Minority Leader Richard] Tisei said of his sexuality. "I don't think people really care these days."
Aw, don't be like that, State Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei. People still care. They care very, very deeply. And don't you ever think otherwise.
