David Paterson's Public Statement for the Ages

Just watched New York Gov. David Paterson's public statement officially announcing that he will not be running in November. It mostly seemed kind of pointless, but I thought the very end of it was rather moving…

"I hope that history will remember that I fought the good fight, that I…"

I forget that part.

"…and that I…"

I forget that part, too.

But, overall, I think his point was well-made.
