• Secret GOP Fundraising Techniques Are Based on Fear, Anger and Scooby Doo

Here is a shocking surprise. Perhaps you should sit down. To better cope with the shock. And surprise. The shocking, shocking surprise that is coming your way in just a few seconds. Ready? Okay. Deep breath. Here goes.

Turns out the RNC's fundraising agenda involves fueling constituents' hysteria and maintaining a hearty disdain for Republican donors…

The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on "fear" of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how "ego-driven" wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and "tchochkes."

This was all demonstrated in a PowerPoint presentation (sample slide, above) — you see, Barack Obama is the Joker, but a socialist Joker, and Nancy Pelosi is Cruella de Ville.  And a character in a Grant Wood painting. Just like Harry Reid, who is also Scooby Doo (?).

And I don't know about you, but nothing boosts my ego like a tchochke commemorating my thousand-dollar donation to fight cartoon characters.
