David Frum Dismissed from Conservative Think Tank for Too Much Thinking Inside the Tank

Conservative columnist David Frum has been perhaps the most pessimistic seers of things to come, calling [health care reform] the GOP's Waterloo in a much-linked about response.

You broke their hearts…

Frum posted on his blog yesterday that he'd been booted from his perch at the American Enterprise Institute, the conservative think tank where he's worked for years…

This morning, Frum explained to Politico that he's a casualty of the war of the rabid conservative base against its elite wise men. "The elite isn't leading anymore. It's trapped. Partly because of the desperate economic situation in the country, what were once the leading institutions of conservatism are constrained."

They don't feel they have to wipe everybody out. Just their enemies. (Which is only mostly everybody.)
