John McCain Is Also a Big Fan of Mad Men

Yesterday, I went to a lot of trouble — some people might say too much trouble — to point out that Barack Obama is apparently a fan of Mad Men, which might have seemed weird because, Huh? But, actually, I had two very good reasons for spending so much time on that post: 1) I am very excited for the 4th season of Mad Men which begins later this month, and 2) playing with that Mad Men Yourself thing on the AMC website is really fun! (I am a serious political commentator!)

So anyway, earlier today, I became aware of this article from a couple months ago about January Jones (Betty Draper) visiting Congress to talk about Japanese Sharking or something. And at the bottom of the article is this…

She also got a meeting with former presidential candidate John McCain, who tweeted afterward: "Great meeting and tour of the Capitol with January Jones, who is an advocate for sharks. I'm a huge fan of Mad Men!"

Now, President Obama is probably not a huge fan of John McCain these days. But, as we now know, he is a huge of Mad Men! These are the foundations of political comity. (This is a Comity Central website, after all.*)
