Quote Unquote: Sarah Palin, Historiesque

Sarah Palin, writing on the historic origins of the presidential oath in her new book…

"The very first thing Washington did as president was to offer a prayer to God to secure the liberties of the new nation… [he] put his hand on the Bible as he was sworn in. And he added the words so help me God' to the presidential oath."

Now, some people might be moved to denigrate this quote simply based upon the pedantic fact that it's more a matter of mythology than actual reality, but those people forget that the book is called America by Heart not America by Brain or America by Facts or something stupid and elitist like that.

Can your scientific history telling machines really look inside Sarah Palin's heart and prove that that's not how things happened inside there?
