Stewart and Colbert React to Arizona Shootings
Last night, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert returned to the air for the first time since the horrific shootings in Arizona with the unenviable task of hosting political comedy shows in the wake of the tragedy. While there were a few welcome laughs, both Jon and Stephen primarily eschewed humor and focused instead on urging everyone to rise above the ugliness of placing blame for political gain. And I know asking the pundit class not to exploit tragedy for political points is a little like asking Skynyrd not to play "Free Bird," but here's hoping for some pleasant surprises.
Stephen Colbert's take can be found below.
The Daily Show and Colbert Report air Monday through Thursday starting at 11pm / 10c.
