Voltaire never actually said, "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it," but people continue to attribute the quote to him. And here in the United States, they have the Constitutionally guaranteed right to do so thanks to the First Amendment, which protects our God-given freedom to say any dumb thing we want. And isn't that what America is really all about? With that in mind, here's Stephen Colbert celebrating and exercising his First Amendment rights.
