So, uh, we're really doing this thing? We're really gonna go ahead with this Michele Bachmann presidential run thing? I mean, don't get me wrong, I personally am thrilled! But I'm also kinda sorta embarrassed for America. Like, I wouldn't want people looking down from Canada and seeing that we're treating this person like an actual non-piece of satire. But I guess we're going with it, huh? Alright.
So, look at this poll. She's right up there are the tippy top between Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin as having the most intense following…
Overall, none of the 12 potential candidates generates a high level of intensely positive opinions. Huckabee has the highest Positive Intensity Score at +25, with 27% of Republicans who recognize him expressing a strongly favorable opinion and 2% expressing a strongly unfavorable opinion.
Bachmann is next on the list, with a Positive Intensity Score of +20 — the difference between the 24% who have heard of her and have a strongly favorable opinion of her and the 4% whose opinion is strongly unfavorable. Her relatively high positioning on this list is noteworthy given her lower name identification of only 52%, indicating that she generates stronger-than-average reactions among those who know her…
Sarah Palin's Positive Intensity Score of +16 puts her below the top scorers, despite her almost universal name recognition of 96%.
Mike Huckabee, I get. I can see why an actual person who is capable of tying his own shoes but happens to think absolutely not-at-all like me might be leaning toward Mike Huckabee as a presidential candidate. And Sarah Palin, I've just kind of come to accept as a ridiculous and powerful anomaly, like a tornado full of rhinoceroses. Tempted as you may be to stand and gawk at the spectacle of it, you've really got to run for cover.
But are we really being forced to accept a second tornado full of rhinoceroses? Really? At some point, you have to stop running and try to figure out why this is happening or you're going to be running from tornadoes full of rhinoceroses for the rest of your life.
