Big news from Glenn Beck's website The Blaze…
Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News' digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.
It's noble of Glenn Beck's people and Fox News to put a positive spin on this with all that "produce a variety of television projects" business, but we all know what's really going on. Obviously, Glenn Beck is being called back to his home planet.
We all knew this day would come. Since that unseasonably chilly autumnal evening when a brilliant light was seen streaking across the sky outside of Baltimore and the local farmers found something growing — if that's even the word for what they later claimed to witness — from the town well. Of course, it wasn't long afterward that all the farm animals began behaving oddly. Other worldly, perhaps. A cow is not supposed to crave gold any more than a rooster should find itself obsessed with drawing abstruse connections between little-known socialist activists of the early part of the previous century and policy makers today. And, by God, why would the pig not cease that incessant crying?!
Needless to say, it was an unforgivingly cold winter and a parched and barren spring that followed. The withered fruits of the farmers' labors brought little profit for the beleaguered and now-scrawny townsfolk, many of whom succumbed to the wasting sickness that swept through the county. And the ones who survived? Well, it's best not to speak of their fates.
Anyway, shortly after that Glenn Beck started doing radio and then he was on CNN before finally hitting it big on Fox. But we knew that this was only for a short while. Glenn Beck has other pressing business in far away star systems.
Though, it probably safe to say, he's sure to leave something behind.
