I understand that some people might be thinking that Donald Trump's campaign to mainstream doubts over President Obama's country of birth might have been rooted in some thinly-veiled racism or possibly the chance to capitalize of conservative voters' thinnerly-veiled racism.
But, really, nothing in the world could be farther from the truth. Look, even Donald Trump says so. And nobody knows Donald Trump better than Donald Trump…
Trump was on Fox & Friends Monday and addressed a campaign by Van Jones and Color Of Change, a political advocacy group for African-Americans, to get Celebrity Apprentice contestants Star Jones and Lil Jon to condemn Trump for "race-baiting."
"When it comes to racism and racists," Trump said, "I am the least racist person there is. And I think most people that know me would tell you that. I am the least racist. I've had great relationships."
"In fact," Trump added, "Randal Pinkett won on The Apprentice a little while ago, a couple years ago, and Randal's been outstanding in every way. So I am the least racist person. But [Van Jones] is a guy trying to get some publicity for himself by attacking Donald Trump."
Well, there you go. You heard it right from the man himself. Donald Trump is "the least racist person there is." He even allowed a black person to win on his reality TV show!! Are you kidding me?! Why have we not given this guy a sainthood yet? Martin Luther King is probably rolling over in his grave right now saying, "Why didn't I think to add that to my speech? I'm so stupid!"
Once again, Donald Trump proves his superiority over the rest of us mere mortals.
