It's commonly known that 24-hour cable news abhors a vacuum. So, given the lack of a viable narrative coming out of the Ames Iowa Straw Poll, the pundits invented one. Hence, the new GOP top tier: Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.
Less commonly known however: 24-hour cable news abhors Ron Paul. Hence, no Ron Paul.
