Quote Unquote: The Modern-Day Harriet Tubman
Rep. Allen West (R-FL) on the historical significance of Rep. Allen West (R-FL)…
"The people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about… I'm here as the modern-day Harriet Tubman to kind of lead people on the underground railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility."
In case you're wondering, in this metaphor, the "plantation" is the Democratic Party.
That said, I'm pretty sure that West is confusing Harriet Tubman with that fox in the top hat who leads Pinocchio into Pleasure Island. Two totally different people.
