George Pataki's 2012 Campaign Ends Before It Starts
Critical update: contrary to the rumors we heard earlier this week, it is not Pataki time. A source tells CNN that New York's former governor has decided not to enter the GOP primary race, which leaves the field wide open for some other candidate to claim the "most unelectable" title currently held by Jon Huntsman…Speculation was that the former three-term governor would announce his candidacy Saturday at the Polk County [Iowa] Republican fundraiser.
But the source said that Pataki, who seriously considered running, has decided instead to forgo a run for the GOP nomination.
Oh well, so much for that frisson of excitement. I guess New Yorkers will have to find something else to talk about this weekend.
