Newt Gingrich's Gay Half-Sister Supports Barack Obama

Apparently Newt Gingrich has a half-sister and neither of her halves like men. Candace Gingrich-Jones is a gay rights advocate who is married to a woman (Newt did not attend the wedding) and is apparently the cool one in the family — she was even in an episode of Friends. So what if she married a woman? Newt Gingrich married three of them.

Last night, she appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show to engage in some sibling rivalry…

When I first saw this story, I misread it as "half-gay sister" and thought, "Newt Gingrich isn't even tolerant of his sister being half-gay?"

And then I realized how ignorant I was, and that's why I decided to run for the Republican nomination.
