It's crunch time for candidates in Iowa, which means an all-out, knock-down, drag-out pander showdown.
Mitt Romney doesn't support gay marriage but believes in equality for all citizens regardless of sexuality, however that works. Ron Paul denies using homophobic or racist slurs in a newsletter while advocating for the destruction of pretty much every government program that supports minorities.
But Newt Gingrich, whose popularity is in rapid freefall, doesn't have time for such niceties…
Newt Gingrich told a gay man and longtime resident of Oskaloosa here today that he should vote for President Obama.
"I asked him if he's elected, how does he plan to engage gay Americans. How are we to support him? And he told me to support Obama," said Scott Arnold, an adjunct professor of writing at William Penn University.
Just imagine if the other candidates were as honest as Newt! Michele Bachmann would tell gay Americans to vote for Satan. Rick Santorum would tell gay voters to come back to his place tonight. And Rick Perry would tell gays to vote for uh, whatshisname, umm… oops.
