The Newt Gingrich people might just be onto something here…
The Gingrich campaign has pounced on recent Romney comments in which he suggested that a European-style value added tax could replace part of the tax code and the corporate level, and praised the co-incentive aspect of the health-care system in Switzerland, where people pay some 20% of their medical bills, ABC reports.
"The fact that he's willing to look at European socialism shows just how far out of the conservative mainstream he is," a Gingrich spokesman says.
Devastating! Absolutely devastating!
Oh, are you not seeing what I'm seeing in that second paragraph? Here's let me run it through Google Translate's conservative, so you can see how your average Iowa caucus goer is reading this…
"The blah blah blah's blahing to blah at EUROPEAN SOCIALISM blah blah blah blah blah of the Jesus America JOIN US! blah blah," a Gingrich spokesman says.
You've got to admit, they make a compelling point.
