Mitt Romney's genetic code may or may not have been created in a laboratory, but we have no other explanation for his brood of strapping sons. Their teeth are as white as the Mormon Church, their hair is held in place by the strongest of follicles and–most importantly–they never say anything embarrassing in public. Until now! Today Matt Romney responded to a question about a certain document his father has yet to release…
"He has not said that he will not do it. And he's also not said that he will," Matt Romney said about his father releasing his tax returns. "I don't know the answer to that."
While everyone fumbled for their decoder rings, Matt took it one step further…
"I heard someone suggest the other day that as soon as President Obama releases his grades and his birth certificate — then maybe he'd do it," he said.
If you listen carefully, you can almost hear Mitt Romney's stylist running to buy another bottle of Grecian Formula.
After Matt got a chuckle from that joke, Tagg (the son who isn't now written out of the will) quickly added that the comment did not come from his father. If there's one group that Romney has refused to pander to, it's literally the only group he hasn't pandered to: Birthers. Not even in jest. Who does he look like, Rick Perry?
As we know, once a gaffe goes viral, it can ruin even the most perfect pedigree. There's only one thing to do: open a Twitter account and start groveling.
