Stephen Colbert Announces He's Running for President (Maybe)
Well, that just happened. And, oh, did it happen! If anything, it happened too happeningly, if that's even a thing that can happen. What I'm referring to, of course, is Stephen Colbert's decision on tonight's Colbert Report to have his attorney Trevor Potter transfer control of the Colbert Super PAC over to Jon Stewart so that he can begin exploring a potential presidential run…
"I am proud to announce that I am forming an exploratory committee to lay the groundwork for my possible candidacy for president of the United States of America of South Carolina,” Colbert said during the Thursday evening show, several hours before airtime on Comedy Central.
Look upon this heartwarming moment with your own eye-things…
The big announcement is coming up after the jump.
The Colbert Report airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30/10:30c.
