• Rick Santorum Loves Gay People Too Much to Give Them Rights

Despite what you may have heard from LGBT activists, Rick Santorum is a true friend of the gays. Sure, he opposes gay marriage and adoption, and he believes that all heathen sodomites will burn in the fiery pits of Hell. But have you seen those sweater vests?

You see, Rick Santorum doesn't "hate" gays. In fact, he loves them. He loves gays soooo much that he simply can't bear to see them have any legal rights

Rick Santorum's wife came to his defense, and Santorum elaborated on his opposition to gay marriage, when a South Carolina supporter asked him how she should explain her presidential preference to her gay son…

"As Rick's wife, I have known and loved him for 23 years and I think it's very sad what the gay activists have done out there. They've vilified him, and it's so wrong. Rick does not hate anyone. He loves them. What he has simply said is marriage shouldn't happen."

    The candidate clarified…

"There's all sorts of other relationships that people have, and they are valuable relationships… But that does not mean that we should change the laws to order — to create an atmosphere where children and families are not being promoted."

Stop ganging up on Santorum, disenfranchised gay people! It's all just a big silly misunderstanding. Santorum's opposition to marriage equality is a "public policy difference," not a "personal assault." I mean, why on earth would any couple be personally offended when the government refuses to recognize their union? Why would they take personal offense when denied the right to adopt a child or visit a dying loved one at the hospital?

It's all just dry C-SPAN public policy stuff, Santorum says. Which is why he shouldn't take personal offense when Americans call him a hypocritical bigot. And why he should in no way be personally offended when voters elect a robotic billionaire they can barely tolerate because the idea of Santorum being president makes them dry heave. Nothing personal.
