In the course of my job, I watch a lot of politicians politicizing policies in political politics. I don't mean to be unpolitic, but a lot of these speeches that I have to watch end up blending all into each other and mixing themselves up, so it's hard for me to tell when an oration is simply rehashed rhetoric in a general sort of uninspired way, and when it's rehashed rhetoric in a VERY SPECIFIC sort of uninspired way.
Some kindly Republican strategists did the work, and it turns out big swaths of the President's speech last night was the latter…
On the plus side, it's nice to know that our Commander-in-Chief is tech-savvy enough to use the "copy and paste" function on his computer. That alone makes him, by far, the most qualified member of the federal government to discuss SOPA and PIPA.
By very far.
