Just check out Newt's latest robo-call in Florida, which went a little something like this…
"As governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney vetoed a bill paying for kosher food for our seniors in nursing homes. Holocaust survivors, who for the first time, were forced to eat non-kosher, because Romney thought $5 was too much to pay for our grandparents to eat kosher… Paid for by Newt 2012."
This is a bold step forward for Newt, who had up to now only accused Romney of cutting kosher food for "elderly Jewish residents." But when asked about the call, Gingrich was coy as ever…
"I have no idea what you're talking about," he said three times, speaking to reporters as he left Fred's Southern Kitchen. "Can't comment on something I don't know about."
Then he added, "You might check and see whether the accusation is true."
It's pretty hard to imagine Newt not raising his eyebrows and smirking as he said that. Then again, it's equally hard to imagine him not just going all the way and calling Mitt Romney Hitler.
Maybe he's saving that for Nevada?
