Rick Santorum Ad Mocks Mitt "Rombo" Romney [VIDEO]

With the Michigan primary fast approaching, Public Policy Polling finds Rick Santorum with a 39-24 lead over Mitt Romney in the land of shuttered factories and broken blue-collar dreams. Love him or hate him, at least Santorum is sincere in his pre-Enlightenment views, and if you're unemployed, you have to figure a nanny-led job recovery is coming in the contraception-less Santorum administration.

According to Santorum, only a barrage of literal mud-slinging from the Romney campaign and its non-coordinating Super PAC cousin can stop the Santorum surge now. So Rick has torn off his shirtsleeves and is airing a pre-buttal to the "Rombo" assault…

The ad shows a Mitt Romney look-alike furtively enter a parking garage and use machine gun to inaccurately spray mud at a cardboard cutout of Santorum. As the spot closes and a narrator intones, "in the end, Mitt Romney's ugly attacks are going to backfire," Romney, err "Rombo," looks down to find mud splattered on his shirt.

Well, let's pray it's mud.
