It may not be getting the same press as Mitt Romney's battle for the GOP nomination, but Barack Obama's got a primary of his own to win.
I don't know what it is, but Barack Obama must have done something to Oklahoma at some point that they found really offensive. Like, successfully campaign to become president.
You know, something really offensive…
With 98 percent of [Oklahoma] precincts reporting Tuesday, Obama won 57 percent of the vote. Four other candidates combined for 43 percent of the vote, including anti-abortion activist and Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry who received 18 percent of the vote.
According to Democratic Party rules, Terry is eligible for a delegate since he won more than 15 percent of the statewide vote. Terry beat Obama in 12 counties, mostly in western Oklahoma. Terry acknowledges he can't win the presidency but says he hopes to cause Obama's defeat in the fall.
Oh, man! I just just know this is going to end up being a brokered Democratic convention. If that happens, it'll be a tough time for the party. But it seems to me the only smart thing to do is throw our support behind boot-headed performance artist Vermin Supreme. He really represents a lot of what the Democratic Party stands for.
Speaking of which, I'll bet Dennis Kucinich might just be available.
