• Does No One Care That Rick Santorum Leads in Louisiana?

    Rick Santorum

    Nope

Rick Santorum is leading Mitt Romney with double digits in Louisiana, according to a new Rasmussen poll out of the state… Still, 73 percent of Lousiana Republicans have already resigned themselves to the idea that Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee.

Boy, you've got to hand it to Santorum for even staying in this thing. It's like he's in a boxing match, only his punches are mathematically worthless and the fight's already over and come on, Rick, what are you doing in that empty boxing ring?

Or maybe a better analogy is that he's mountain climbing. And the summit represents the GOP nomination, and the people at base camp represent the GOP electorate, and they're all cheering him on and he's looking fresh and strong and, oh hell, Romney's already up there.

Okay, one more. Santorum is a radically conservative politician who wants to strip women and LGBT people of all their rights and micromanage every facet of Americans' sex lives and turn the country into a theocracy in which his rigid moral compass is the only law. And lots of conservatives think that sounds just fine but, oh, thank God, Romney's already up there.
