• Barack Obama, Mitt Romney Battle Over Who's Worse at Lunch

Mitt RomneyIt's the latest in a series of arenas they've fought in, after press-exclusion and giving Wall Street executives exactly what they want. But this one looks to be the most heated of all

Amid the bustle of President Obama's surprise stop for barbecue Wednesday the White House apparently overlooked one key detail: the bill…

The bill for the president and his four guests was $55.58, but was left unpaid at the point of sale, according to pool reports.

Well played, Mr. President. Dining and dashing is about the worst thing you can do at a restaurant, so it won't be easy for Mitt to out-gaffe you. Right?

Let's set the scene for Romney: he's gone to an Iowa cafe and neglected to introduce himself to the owner. He later places a phone call to apologize

[The owner] says [Romney] explained that it was just a misunderstanding that she did not get to meet him, but the phone call didn't smooth things over for her.

"He responded, 'Well, I'm sorry your tablecloths got ripped off, wadded up and thrown in the back room' and I took it as mocking," she said…

"With how he treated me, is that how he's going to treat others? You know, if he gets in office is he going to be that way to us little people?"

Wait a minute. Mitt Romney had to personally belittle this woman over the phone for her to suspect that he doesn't respect ordinary people? Does Iowa not have reporters?
