How stressful is it to be Rick Gorka, Mitt Romney's traveling press secretary, stuck on an international gaffecation? During a visit to the Polish Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Pilsudski Square in Warsaw, it was this stressful…
CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!"
Gorka: "Show some respect."
NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question…"
Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."
Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it."
It's not the first time I've heard someone use the words "kiss my ass" and "holy site," in the same phrase, but definitely the first time outside of a weird porn movie setting.
Gorka subsequently apologized to the reporters, perhaps fearing that Romney would exercise his love of firing people. In other news, the consumer confidence numbers? Obama didn't build those. They declined to levels unseen since January, so anyone who thinks an unprofessional statement from a press aide, rather than economic conditions, is going to have an impact on the race can shove it.
