In a town full of politicians who peddle half-truths, partial-truths, quarter-truths, semi-truths, iffy-truths, eighth-truths and bald-faced lies (though, interestingly, hardly any full-truths), it's relatively rare for people to come right out and call each other on their bullshit in no uncertain terms.
Which is why RNC chairman Reince Priebus' Sunday-morning appearance on ABC's This Week was somewhat noteworthy…
"As far as Harry Reid is concerned, listen, I know you might want to go down that road, I'm not going to respond to a dirty liar who hasn't filed a single page of tax returns himself."
A dirty liar! He didn't specify, but I believe that we can extrapolate that he meant of the pants-on-fire variety. And I'm not 100 percent certain, but I think he meant that as an insult.
I've got to say, for once, I'm on Priebus' side. I think he's right. I just hope he doesn't immediately follow this up with an ad hominem mischaracterization of Reid's policies which having nothing to do with the argument and pull him down from the moral high ground…
"[He] complains about people with money but lives in the Ritz Carlton here down the street."
Oh well. It was nice siding with the RNC for a minute at any rate.
