• Goodbye to All This

Oh hey, by the way. This is my last post as editor of Indecision. I've been doing this for nearly six years now, and — seeing as how my efforts here have pretty much fixed political discourse in the U.S. — I think it's time for me to move on.

I am still somewhat stunned that Comedy Central Digital's Julie Ann Pietrangelo, Michael Kraskin andĀ Paul Beddoe-Stephens thought well-enough of me to put me — along with my then co-editor Karen Lurie — in chargeĀ of the blog's editorial content back in the spring of '07, when we were just starting off and trying to figure out what an Indecision post was even supposed to look like.

Reading that list of names, I realize that I'm the last of the original Indy team still with the company. So, I've clearly worn out my welcome. I get the impression that people in the CC offices are yawning and looking at their watches and wondering to each other why I didn't get the hint when they offered to call a cab a half hour ago. But, hey, there was still a little more wine left, so I can't really be blamed.

While here, I had a chance to work with an incredible amount of incredibly funny and talented people. And, if I do say so myself, I think I've shown a genuine talent for recognizing people with genuine talent, which is part of the reason why I'm certain this blog will continue to do so well without me. Everybody in this current staff — River Clegg, Ilya Gerner, Gonzalo Cordova, Lisa Beth Johnson and our tireless producer Mary Phillips-Hyphen-Sandy — have been an absolute joy to work with, as the very fact that I would be moved to use a phrase like "absolute joy to work with" surely attests.

Lastly, and most importantly, I need to thank all of you for reading my ridiculous opinions over the years. Or, at any rate, for making it down to the end of this post. In either case, I truly appreciate the effort. It's been great knowing you were there. Thank you.
