Are We Douchey Enough to Make Fun of Levi Johnston's Mom?

News just came out that the mother of Levi Johnston — the soon-to-be son-in-law of Sarah Palin — was recently arrested for some kind of drug-related offense…

A 42-year-old Wasilla woman was arrested Thursday at her home by Alaska State Troopers with a search warrant in an undercover drug investigation. Sherry L. Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla 18-year-old who received international attention in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their teenage daughter was pregnant and he was the father.

Not really sure if this is the sort of thing Indecision 2008 should be covering.

On one hand — with the specter of a Sarah Palin-presidency, and all the "family values" drivel that would include, not looming quite so large on the horizon — this story isn't really much more than that of some poor woman whose life sucks because she has to live in Alaska and whose son was unfortunate enough to knock up a crazy lady's daughter.

But, on the other hand, it's always funny when bad things happen to people we don't know.

Man, tough call.
