Are You Smarter Than a Bible School-Educated Louisianan?

Thanks to legislation signed by Louisiana governor and potential Mitt Romney running mate Bobby Jindal,  beginning this fall, thousands Louisiana schoolkids will receive taxpayer funded vouchers covering the full cost of tuition at private religious schools, some of which are reputed to be excellent alternatives to the state's under-performing public schools and some of which are fly by night operations relying on the hilarious-in-a-cry-yourself-to-sleep-kind-of-way curriculum contained in textbooks published by A Beka Book and Bob Jones University Press.

Mother Jones did yeoman's work of highlighting the wackiest facts these textbooks teach, which leads us to this quiz: Are You Smarter Than a Bible School-Educated Louisianan?

Condoleezza Rice Will Guest Star on 30 Rock

Condoleezza Rice is an incredibly intelligent and motivated woman who served in the Bush administration as both Secretary of State and National Security Advisor.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will reunite with an old flame…in TV land. Tina Fey announced Thursday, on NPR's The Leonard Lopate Show, that the Stanford University political science professor will make her star turn in an upcoming episode.

Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin) name-dropped Rice as his ex-girlfriend throughout the first season of NBC's 30 Rock and it appears she will debut in "a couple weeks" as the fictional executive's former flame.

Glad to see she's finally getting her career on track. Maybe she'll actually make something of herself one day.

30 Rock's Sue Galloway Is Running for Anarchist Mayor

UCB-er Aaron Glaser wrote and directed this political ad parody starring 30 Rock's Sue Galloway as an Anarchist mayoral candidate from Indianapolis. An anarchist politician would probably come up with crazy laws designed to undermine and eradicate our delicately balanced system. In other words, they'd cause far less damage than the average politician.

What's funny is if she was actually running in these midterm elections, she wouldn't even be thaaat fringe compared to all the crazy witch virgins and Yosemite Sam street preachers campaigning this year. If you really want to be fringe these days, you have to sacrifice a baby to your goat god while proposing we send all Muslims to the planet Muslamia on a rocket ship fueled by blood diamonds.
