Rep. Mike Kelly Makes the Pearl Harbor of 9/11 References
Thanks to Obamacare, beginning yesterday new institutional insurance plans are required to cover birth control and other women's preventative health care services without a copay, which means it's time for another installment of Things That Aren't Like 9/11 Being Compared to 9/11.Today's example comes courtesy of Pennsylvania Representative Mike Kelly…
"I know in your mind you can think of times when America was attacked. One is December 7th, that's Pearl Harbor day. The other is September 11th, and that's the day of the terrorist attack. I want you to remember August the 1st, 2012, the attack on our religious freedom. That is a day that will live in infamy, along with those other dates."
This explains why vaginas seem to be on the terrorist watch list of grope-y TSA agents. Or, it could be part of a broader problem that can be fixed if elected officials and their staffs took two minutes to study this chart…

Quote Unquote: The War on Terror
Glenn Greenwald on the fallout from the War on Terror…
.
"Given the ongoing American quest for violence from that one-day attack [9/11], just imagine the impact which continuous attacks over the course of a full decade must have on those whom we’ve been invading, droning, cluster-bombing, occupying, detaining without charges, and indiscriminately shooting."
.
Yeah, but… those other people are foreign. They're foreigners from foreign places. Science hasn't even proven that they have souls.
So, it's really not the same thing.

Jon Stewart Advocates for Cancer-Stricken 9/11 First Responders
From the CC Insider…
A little over a year ago, Jon Stewart played an instrumental role in raising awareness for the Zadroga Bill to provide healthcare to 9/11 first responders. Fortunately, the bill passed. However, in a twist that sounds like it's from a dark satire about how broken and inefficient our government is, cancer is not a covered ailment.
So, Jon has once again lent his voice to the cause with this PSA for the FealGood Foundation…

How Many Dozens of Justice Coins Will You Be Ordering?
Oh… My… GOD!!! This Osama bin Laden Is Dead commemorative coins from the… um, Historic Coin Mint (which is maybe an actual thing maybe)!!! For only $19.95?! Please tell me that they're made of genuine brass and then painted over in a thin sheet of 24 carat gold! They are?!?! There better not be a limited number of these, because I want an unlimited number of them!!!
Look, I don't wanna be too nitpicky here. I'm glad that one side of these coins features a picture of some Navy Seals and another has the World Trade Center. But can't there be a third side that shows Osama bin Laden bleeding out from his skull on his bedroom floor? But, like, in bas relief and all tasteful and shit.
I'm just saying, they're missing the Historic Coin Mint is really missing an opportunity make something special here.
