George W. Bush: A Portrait of the Artist
Sometimes things that aren't meant for public consumption can't be kept secret, like torture memos or the real reason we went to war with Iraq. Also on that list are George W. Bush's most recent paintings, which are making the internet rounds thanks to a hacker who broke into various Bush family members' email accounts.
The paintings are notable because, aside from being a cheerleader, Dubya never really struck anyone as the "artistic type." What's more, the simple but well-composed images depict him in the bathtub and shower. As always, everyone is a critic on the internet.
That can't be George W. Bush's painting. Where's the rubber ducky in the tub?

The quality of George Bush's art discourages me from picking up painting again.

No One Outraged by Glenn Beck's Piss Obama

Glenn Beck is trying so hard! Speaking in a French accent — like a real artiste!– Beck decided to dunk a Barack Obama figurine into what he claimed was his own urine (in which case, Obamacare can not be implemented soon enough, mostly for the mental health benefits but also the nephrology screenings)…
"Now some will say that all Glenn Beck did is put the president in a jar of pee-pee. While technically correct, yes, I prefer to call this work of art by its more appropriate and professional title. I like to call this, 'Flobama.' Sure we can dumb it down for the masses of little people so they can understand. Yes, we have Obama in pee-pee. Mmm? Oui? Yes? This can be yours for a bargain price of $25,000."
Although eBay shut down the auction after bidding on the item had reached $11,000, basically no one else was upset about this. Barely anyone remembers the Andres Serrano "Piss Christ" exhibition that served as the inspiration/counterpoint for Beck's Dadaism. He should have just confessed to using Dos Equis or Coors Lite in that jar. Liberal micro-brew beer snobs would have been way more outraged.

Brilliant Piece of Art Sells for Reasonable Amount of Money
Do you remember Jon McNaughton, the artist who gave us the timeless masterpiece "One Nation Under God," alternately known (by me) as "Lord Jesus Christ Presenting Us with Our Holy Constitution"? Well, he's got a newer, even better piece of art that's–
Hey, let's let the artist present this one…
Wow! Looks amazing, right? Finally, we can dump that piece of junk "Mona Lisa" in the trash and hang up something with a little class in its place!
How much would you think a brilliant piece of art like that goes for? A lot of money, right!
Wrong!
It goes for even more…

President Barack Obama, Hipster-in-Chief
While the media was distracted yesterday with the Iowa caucus circus, President Obama made a major decision that may change the course of the presidency for decades to come.
He joined Instagram, the artsy photo-sharing service that lets you add grainy '70s-style filters to your smartphone pics and post them to popular social media sites. Instagram celebrated the arrival of the First Oversharer in a blog post yesterday…
"We're excited to welcome President Barack Obama to Instagram! We look forward to seeing how President Obama uses Instagram to give folks a visual sense of what happens in the everyday life of the President of the United States."
The first photo the president shared was a behind-the-scenes snapshot taken as he spoke with Iowa caucus goers from the Capitol Hilton via video link.
Now that the President can create precious vintage-looking photos with the push of a button, his entire life will start to look less like that of a dignified politician and more like an Urban Outfitters catalogue: Obama ironically meeting with injured veterans, Hillary Clinton ironically discussing North Korea's nuclear weapons and, of course, Michelle Obama ironically ironing her husband's shirts.
With accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and now Instagram, Obama is one Pinterest handle away from being America's "cool dad."
Well, if you don't count the jeans.

From the Pork Barrel: Anti-Renaissance Woman
* While playing with The Michele Bachmann Coloring Book, make sure not to color outside the lines. Because that's where socialists live.
* So, here's the big question now that Rick Perry has announced that he'll be announcing his presidential announcement this weekend: Is America ready for a President who doesn't hate immigrants quite enough?
* I know where Michele Bachmann's coming from. I often also feel a certain nostalgic pang for the Good Ol' Dark Ages. Back then, they really knew how to suffer no witches, ya know? (Kids these days with their suffering witches, am I right?)
* Speaking of witch, new author Christine O'Donnell's Amazon page is looking good.
* Democrats haven't even lost this presidential election yet. Is this really the time to start worrying about who's going to lose in 2016?
* Michele Bachmann gets the most in her corn hole!
