Barack Obama Thinks Maybe Bipartisanship Might Be a Good Thing
Oh man! Get a load of this…President Obama, returning to Washington from his Christmas vacation in Hawaii, urged House and Senate GOP leaders to put partisan politics aside in the name of working to boost the economy…
"And that our job this year is to make sure that we build on recovery," he added. "We started making good progress on that in the lame-duck, and I expect to build on that progress when I get back."
Well, of course he'd urge the Senate and House to "put partisan politics aside." His side is losing! LOL! Where was all his talk of working together before now, huh? I mean, seriously! Where was all his incessant, annoying, desperate attempts at bipartisanship for the past two years? Where were all the overly-optimistic-bordering-on-delusional pleas to find some common ground with Republican leaders at any point since he was elected in 2008?
Now he wants it! This guy, I'm tellin' you.

Jon Stewart on Obama's Disapproval of Americans
These days, when it comes to President Obama, Americans seem to be divided into two distinct groups. There are those who think he is a jelly-spined capitulator who has failed time and again to deliver on a myriad of campaign promises. Then there are, of course, those who don't like him. On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart and Wyatt Cenac discussed the President's rocky relationship with the embittered segments of his base.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

The Daily Show Captures Bipartisanship in the Wild
Despite the contentiousness of our current political discourse, there are still some among us who believe that cooperation and bipartisanship are possible in America. But what are those people trying to hide, and why won't they show us their real birth certificates? And now that I think about it, I've never seen photographic evidence that proves they didn't push Baby Jessica down that well. On last night's Daily Show, John Oliver sat down with two such suspiciously reasonable politicians.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Jon Stewart on Glenn Beck's Opposition to Food Safety
It's no secret that the Republicans and Democrats in Congress have trouble getting stuff done, so it was a pleasant surprise when a sweeping food safety bill recently passed the Senate with bipartisan support. It seems even the vicious partisan divide in Washington can't stand in the way of our leaders' sincere concern that we not be killed by e-coli in our cheeseburgers, so we can instead be killed by the fat and sodium in our cheeseburgers like God intended. And yet, as Jon Stewart discussed on last night's Daily Show, even something so universally supported and wholly virtuous has its detractors.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

The Onion: "My Constituents Care Way More About Political Gamesmanship Than Jobs, Health Care and the Economy" by John Boehner
John Boehner's op-ed in today's Onion is a fantastic reminder of why he's risen so far up the ranks of Washington…I assure you, the last thing my voters need is some well intended, do-all-I-possibly-can-to-help-the-little-guy congressman running around Washington, working across the aisle, and fighting tooth and nail for jobs, health care, and financial reform to ensure their tax dollars never end up in the hands of banks capable of holding our entire economy hostage.
No, sir. My constituents deserve better…
Trust me: If you talk to an unemployed, uninsured mother of two in Greenville, she'll tell you that jobs and reliable medical coverage come a distant second to the crafting of meticulous talking points that deftly omit the facts and reduce what should be honest discourse about our country's future to a series of contrived, easy-to-digest sound bites designed to sway crucial independent voters.
They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Well, not counting the other several hundred in Congress right now.
