Last night, Brian Williams sat down with Jon for some tense chat about hosting duties and some less tense chat about the virtues of sucking on a lozenge on air.

Now — BriWi may have balked at Jon's play to get him to express an opinion for the "first time in his professional career," but beneath his unflappable demeanor you could tell he was just one stern, yet reassuring nod of the head away from spilling it. Still, the question remains — what did he really want to say?

Poor Brian Williams seems to have been enjoying the sites and sounds of the strip just a wee bit too much last night:

Williams: All right… Wow… It is a tough crowd. It is a tough crowd. And I'm up $130 from last night. Which is ok. I owe the city of Las Vegas my thanks.

Perhaps Mr. Williams should have cashed in his chips a little earlier last night and gotten some sleep before the big debate, eh?
