Comedians tweeting the news is just like angsty suburban teens performing acoustic covers of forgotten 80's songs: never appropriate and always hilarious.
It's always so darn surprising to find out that failed leaders had troubled childhoods. Although the whole 'being shown a fetus by your mother when you were a teenager' thing is getting kinda old.

Harry Reid Does Not Mind the Gays
Fresh off his win against noted human genius Sharron Angle, Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) is totally gaying it up in the Senate. God, SO LIKE A DEMOCRAT, am I right?In a direct challenge to Republicans who support the "don't ask, don't tell" policy barring gay men and lesbians from serving openly in the armed forces, the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, said he would push ahead with a military policy bill that includes language authorizing the Pentagon to repeal the ban.
This is obviously gross and wrong, to allow people already serving our country's military-industrial complex to admit that they like to do it with persons with the same sexytime-parts.
But the important question on everyone's mind is, what does noted rich person Cindy McCain think?
Senator McCain's wife, Cindy, called last week for ending the policy, appearing in a video for an advertising campaign aimed at preventing the bullying of gay teenagers. But then she abruptly reversed herself and said she agreed with her husband.
How unlike a politician's wife, to sell out her true principles in order to maintain cordial relations with her rage-prone husband. You know she and Harry Reid secretly get together to watch Glee and talk about how it makes them feel when Kurt stands up to bullies. And then John McCain just shows up and ruins the party… Just like he is ruining the party for gay men and women in uniform.

The Daily Show to John McCain: It Gets Worse
John McCain is once again drawing ire this week for his conservative stance on repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell. And sure, it's an outdated position that discriminates against our own citizens and makes us less safe, but give the guy a break. Allowing homosexuals to serve is a big step for a guy who enlisted right after they lifted the ban on homosapiens.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Cindy McCain May Not Fully Understand What the Word "Support" Means
Cindy McCain wants you to know that, although she wholeheartedly supports gay rights, she also wholeheartedly supports gay not-rights…
I think that's some kind of a zen koan. I'm pretty sure that if you spend enough time pondering how she can hold both positions simultaneously, you'll eventually find Nirvana (which, I believe, is an underground gay club in D.C. for "discreet" patrons).
