Stephen Colbert on the Supreme Court
The Court seems to think corporations count as real people, and I'm excited. Soon we'll have corporations sitting on the bench themselves, with Chief Justice Pfizer presiding, Associate Justice Halliburton concurring, and fledgling nominee Adidas trying to dodge senators' questions about Roe v. Wade.
The Colbert Report airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30/10:30c.

Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia Attend Dinner Sponsored by Law Firms Opposed to Obamacare

What do you call two Supreme Court Justices in preparation to rule on health care reform who attend a Federalist Society dinner sponsored by two anti-Obamacare law firms and a huge pharmaceutical company?
No big deal at all apparently…
The two justices have been attending Federalist Society events for years. And it's nothing that runs afoul of ethics rules. In fact, justices are exempt from the Code of Conduct that governs the actions of lower federal judges.
If they were, they arguably fell under code’s Canon 4C, which states, "A judge may attend fund-raising events of law-related and other organizations although the judge may not be a speaker, a guest of honor, or featured on the program of such an event."
Nevertheless, the sheer proximity of Scalia and Thomas to two of the law firms in the case, as well as to a company with a massive financial interest, was enough to alarm ethics-in-government activists.
Oh, no! Now Thomas and Scalia are never going to cast their vote in favor of the liberal side of this issue!
I really had a feeling they were gonna sway Thomas on this one.

Herman Cain Makes the Most Hilarious Joke About Anita Hill
Oh my God! Have you heard this amazing joke that Herman Cain made yesterday in Michigan during his fundraising efforts (which, by the way, are moving forward at a very healthy pace) after fielding a question about Anita Hill's new book?
No?! Oh man, you have to hear it! This is genius!
Did you hear that? Just after literally doubling over in laughter at the mere mention of her name, he asked "Is she going to endorse me?"
Bahahahahahahahaha! "Endorse me!" Stop it! Stop it, you're killing me, Herman Cain!
Do you get it? Do you get it?! It's because she was the woman who was allegedly sexually-harassed by Clarence Thomas all those years ago. The one who almost kept him from being appointed to the Supreme Court until he discovered he could just cry racism at anyone who even questioned him about the possibility of inappropriate behavior and introduced us all to Cain's new favorite phrase "high tech lynching."
That's hilarious! Generally speaking, the implied denigration of women is always funny, but this is some next level stuff.

Herman Cain Creates "Guilty Until Proven Innocent" Sound Bite as Instructed
Arrrgh! This Herman Cain sexual harassment allegation thing is really frustrating. No matter how many times Cain changes his story, it just won't go away!
Oh, I know! Let's get Clarence Thomas' wife Ginni Thomas to interview him for Tucker Carlson's website and shoot him some hardball questions like "Are reporters setting you up to by 'guilty until proven innocent'?" so that he can say the words "guilty until proven innocent" with his mouth. The sound bite that will save America!
The best part is when, two questions after the "guilty until proven innocent" question, he says that even though he hasn't been following the "Fast and Furious" story in the news and doesn't have the facts, he still thinks Eric Holder is guilty and should lose his job because some congresspeople say so.
