Stephen Colbert Fires Back at Nancy Pelosi for Anti-Super PAC Attack

Woman to Discuss Women's Health Issues Before Congress
I don't know what to make of this news…Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee will hold a hearing Thursday on the issue of women's health.
The sole witness at the hearing will be Ms. Sandra Fluke, a third-year law student at Georgetown University, who was blocked from testifying at a recent Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing by Chairman Darrell Issa.
For the record, I'm fine with the idea of a third-year law student and former president of Georgetown’s Students for Reproductive Justice group sitting before Congress to testify on women's health issues. Even if she is a woman. (Some of my best friends are people who are married to women.)
I'm just saying it's a slippery slope. I mean, today it's a woman testifying on women's health issues? What's next? A dog testifying on women's health issues? A rakishly-askew bowler hat testifying on women's health issues? We have to draw the line somewhere.
That's why I think it's best to just leave this to the people who know what they're talking about: sexually-repressed virgins and the modern-day equivalent of village shamans.

Michele Bachmann Moving to New District to Keep Congressional Seat
Who is Michele Bachmann without a megaphone with which to scream her half-considered inanities? I mean, who is she really? Without the congressional seat and the television cameras and the people who are forced to pretend like the things she says are meaningful, she might as well be some lady who breeds ferrets, flashes the paperboy and brushes her teeth with sardine paste. That's why it was kind of disturbing there for a while when — after Bachmann dropped from the GOP primaries — we learned that that her district full of like-minded crazy people was being restructured out of existence.
But good news, everyone! Michele Bachmann is resolute in her determination to have an audience for her feverish rants. In fact, she is willing to move mountains to keep what's hers. Or, at any rate, move residences…
The map, released Tuesday afternoon, was crafted by a five-judge panel that had been tasked with drawing the lines after Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and the Republican-controlled state legislature failed to reach a compromise on the state's redistricting.
The court placed Bachmann in the same Democratic-leaning, 4th district seat as nearby Democratic Rep. Betty McCollum, but it left an adjacent, northern Minnesota-based 6th seat vacant that the Republican congresswoman has chosen to run in.
Bachmann, whose Stillwater home is located in the new 4th district, immediately announced on Tuesday that she would move in order to run in the 6th district.
It's so comforting to know that we're never getting rid of her. Ever. No matter what.

The Daily Show on an All-Male Panel's Right to Choose for a Women
I'm really glad that this topic is finally back in the forefront of political and religious discourse, because it highlights the tough decisions that we as a society have to make. Or, at least half of us. (The other half can sit there and look pretty until we've come to a conclusion.)
Coverage continues with Jon Stewart's Eye on the Ladies after the jump.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11/10c.
