Bristol Palin Still the Dancing Grizzly Cub of America's Heart

Can we get Wouldn't Let Sarah Palin's Daughter Get Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars carved onto America's tombstone?
Seems like a fitting epitaph, don't you think?
Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, will return for the ninth week of the Walt Disney Co. network’s show, after her tango with partner Mark Ballas tied for the judges’ worst score…
"There’s a strong popular movement behind Sarah Palin at the moment and she’s receiving a lot of support from the Tea Party," Conrad Green, executive producer of the program, said in a Nov. 4 interview. "It's entirely possible some of those people are behind Bristol for political reasons."
During the taping of the Nov. 8 show, the 20-year-old Palin wore a Tea Party t-shirt while rehearsing.
I like to imagine Mitt Romney and his daughter sitting in front of the television together, watching this in shared terrified silence, a wedge of unspoken resentment being driven down deeper and deeper with each passing week. Somewhere in the distance, a lonely nightingale chirps its doleful song.

Bristol Palin Continues to Thrive on Dancing with the Stars, and That's Why We're All Gonna Die

Hey, so, how about this Sarah Palin character, huh? What a character! Am I right? Can't wait to see her totally lose in the GOP presidential primaries or, failing that, totally lose to Barack Obama in the 2012 general election. Because she is such a joke! There is absolutely no mechanism by which she can squeak by and actually pull this thing off. I mean, it's not like there's some terrifying situational model playing itself out on national television every week, right?
So, on a completely different note and having absolutely nothing to do with what I just wrote, what's up with that Bristol Palin girl hanging on every week on DWTS despite being a talentless oaf? That's kind of weird, isn't it?
I'm not a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars, but I've been watching it regularly this season … and have been stunned at the results on a weekly basis. Bristol Palin gives a lot of effort, but she is a terrible dancer. Clearly the worst of the whole lot; it's not even close…
[W]eek after week, Bristol ends up in the bottom of the judging and nevertheless continues to get tons of votes. Care to guess who's doing the voting? People like my in-laws, who think she's "adorable" and "trying so hard, just like her mother."
But, there's no way she can actually win! That's just ridiculous!

Sarah Palin Trails Barack Obama by Christine O'Donnell-Level Numbers in New Poll
I don't believe that it's any big secret that Barack Obama is not the most popular person in the United States these days. In fact, if it is a secret, people are doing a really lousy job of keeping it that way. Talk about a fucking country full of blabbermouths! Jeeze!Anyway, as unpopular as Obama is, it turns out that there's somebody way more unpopular. And that person just so happens to be the likely 2012 GOP nominee for president…
Obama leads Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, by a 16-point margin, the Bloomberg News National Poll found. Fifty-one percent of likely voters said they would vote to reelect Obama in a hypothetical match-up against Palin, who drew the support of 35 percent of likely voters…
The Bloomberg poll found that she has a 38 percent favorable rating and a 54 percent unfavorable rating. And nearly three out of five Americans — including 47 percent of Republicans — said they doubt whether Palin would be an effective president, according to the September "60 Minutes"/Vanity Fair poll.
Granted, this is one poll for an election two years away for which one of the candidates has not yet even been nominated. So, like, maybe this isn't the most scientific of studies.
Still, one might be led to believe that numbers like this would give the Republican Party pause. Perhaps compel the party to take a hard look at their favored candidate and decide instead to nominate a person who–
What's that you say? Sarah Palin's saying something folksy?
"I tell Bristol, I am texting her and say 'Bristol'… and I wasn't kidding, I thought that this was a practical thing to do… 'How about if Todd and I, we load up all the kids in our motorhome and drive down, park on Rodeo Drive and we come to see you.' And I honestly didn't think that it was an unusual thing to suggest, that's what you do, a road trip… But anyway, that's what we did, though, we parked a little bit further away from Rodeo Drive, and we got to watch Bristol."
OMG! That is so believable! And it so doesn't show an utter lack of respect for the intelligence of her audience! Not at all! What a lady! What a mom! What a totally gonna be the next President of the United States!
What were we talking about again? I forget. Doesn't matter. Once Sarah Palin is president nothing else will matter!

Jon Stewart on the Media on Sarah Palin Getting Maybe Booed on Dancing with the Stars
Sarah Palin being shown being portrayed as a divisive figure in America? Rep. Alan Grayson overdosing on the hyperbole? This is all news to me. When exactly did politics get so impolite?
As I mentioned yesterday, it appears as though Sarah Palin wasn't actually booed after all. So, Boo-Gate gets a happy ending.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Sarah Palin Still Popular with Elitist Lamestream Reality TV Audience
That Dancing with the Stars audience apparently wasn't booing Sarah Palin after all. Boo, me! Booooooo!!!
Appears as though soon-to-be President Palin's rep with the reality television demographic (112 percent, last time I checked) is still as good as gold.
