Leave it to the Democrats to honor the Ruskies. During the DNC tribute to war veterans, an image of a Soviet-era Russian warship appeared behind them on the screen. Is this what all the characters in Red Dawn fought and died for?
That's not even the worst of it…

The Olympic gold medalist will lead the Pledge of Allegiance for a group of people who also dedicated their lives to something America only cares about every four years.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas will be back under the bright lights at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old gymnast, known as the "flying squirrel," will say the Pledge of Allegiance during tonight's proceedings…
Asked if she's nervous, Douglas said, "Not really. I'm just going to go out there, be myself and have fun."
I don't have confirmation, but I believe this is the first time anyone has ever had fun while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. They were actually originally going to get McKayla Maroney but they were worried because she has a history of looking as disappointed as the rest of American feels.
I feel bad for Gabby Douglas. She's only sixteen and her life has already peaked. Sure, she's made millions of dollars she can parlay into a successful life and career. But will she ever know the excitement that comes with the day you tell your parents they no longer have to pay your cellphone bill?

Kal Penn volunteered for Obama's campaign in 2008. Since then, he's gone on to work for the Obama administration in various roles. So this completely makes sense…
What doesn't make sense is, why would the real Harold and Kumar support Barack Obama? President Obama's administration exceeded Bush's record for raids on medicinal marijuana dispensaries. He's laughed off a question about marijuana legalization at a Town Hall meeting.
Does this sound like the candidate two pot smokers who were able to find common ground with Republicans would support? If anything, Harold and Kumar sound more like Ron Paul libertarians to me.

Oh, come on, Democratic National Committee! I know you've had self-esteem issues in the past, but both of us know that you're better than this. I mean, you have to be, because no one is this pathetic.
I didn't want to say anything, but even the Ron Paul people are looking down at you for this one…
The Democratic National Committee is rolling out another bus tour to trail Mitt Romney's own over the weekend through key battle ground states, harping on the Republican candidate's economic policies as throwing "the middle class under the bus."
The DNC tour will last for four days and make stops in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio between Friday and Monday starting in Alexandria, Virginia on Friday at 9:30 a.m. ET, according to their announcement…
This is the DNC's second bus tour following Romney as he campaigns throughout the country. In June, a tour by the same name stopped in key battle ground states like Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Hampshire.
Okay, how about this, Democratic National Committee: Let's drop our plans and go see a movie this weekend, what do you say? Sure, I had plans with the wife, but they can be put on hold for you, Democratic National Committee. Maybe we'll get some dinner and some drinks after.
And, no, we won't be talking about Mitt Romney. No, not at all. I don't care where he's going to be this weekend. This weekend is for me and you, Democratic National Committee.
All right, well, promise me that you'll think about it at any rate? Please.

The Democratic National Committee thought it was being soooo clever when it released this ad series called "Mitt Dancing Around the Issues," featuring Rafalca, Ann Romney's dressage horse that will be competing in the London Olympics later this month…
However, what they failed to consider is that they are a bunch of inconsiderate jerks…
Ann Romney, who trains with show horses as part of her therapy for multiple sclerosis, took offense in an interview with Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America," and now the DNC is saying it will put out no more horse videos, and is expressing regret for offending Ann Romney.
"Our use of the Romneys' dressage horse was not meant to offend Mrs. Romney in any way, and we regret it if it did," DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse told ABC News…
This is already a brutal campaign, but the Obamas have long said families are off limits. Apparently somebody high up reminded the DNC of that.
That's right! Families are off limits! And that includes horses! Rafalca Romney didn't do anything to anybody. He is an innocent horse and does not deserve to be dragged through the muck for political gain. Shame on the Democrats for the mental harm they have no doubt inflicted upon this beautiful animal.
I just hope they didn't put him too much in his head before he has to compete.
