Sarah Palin's statement writer gives Sarah Palin's position on DOMA and the DOJ to professional awful person Maggie Gallagher…
"I have always believed that marriage is between one man and one woman. Like the majority of Americans, I support the Defense of Marriage Act and find it appalling that the Obama administration decided not to defend this federal law which was enacted with broad bipartisan support and signed into law by a Democrat president. It's appalling, but not surprising that the President has flip-flopped on yet another issue from his stated position as a candidate to a seemingly opposite position once he was elected."
I'm sure Ms. Palin was as not-surprised as the rest of us to find out what Ms. Palin believed.

Don't worry, gay people. Just because President Obama doesn't care enough to fight to keep you lovingly subjugated anymore, doesn't mean that nobody does.
Like, take John Boehner and his Congressional Republicans. Even after everybody else has long since stopped worrying about what you do with your lives, they will. They'll never stop. Never ever ever never ever…
The House is likely to take steps to defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said in an interview posted Monday.
Boehner, the leader of the Republican-held House, said he and and his members are considering a number of options to defend DOMA after President Obama ordered the Justice Department to stop defending the 1990s law in court.
"I'd be very surprised if the House didn’t decide that they were going to defend the law," Boehner said on "The Brody File" of the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Aw, those guys. It must make you feel warm inside to know that one group of people is so utterly fixated on how you live your lives. It's really pretty sweet.

Poor poor Newt Gingrich had to do something really painful. Something that almost certainly caused him a great great deal of existential angst. The kind of angst that makes aman wake up in the middle of the night and stare at his reflection in the bathroom mirror for an hour asking himself, "Who am I?"
He was forced to say that President Obama should not be impeached…
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) stressed Friday that he does not believe President Obama should be impeached in reaction to an interview he gave where impeachment of the president was discussed.
Gingrich, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, pushed back hard against the characterization of his interview with the conservative Newsmax magazine, during which he was asked if President Obama should be impeached over his decision to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act in court.
"Congress has every responsibility to demand President Obama live up to his constitutional obligations, but impeachment is clearly not an appropriate action,” Gingrich said in a statement, released after news outlets had interpreted Gingrich's statements to Newsmax as suggesting that Obama could be impeachable for not executing the law regarding DOMA.
Somebody should send that guy a bouquet of cookies or something. I'm sure he's in a bad way.

The Onion: Marauding Gay Hordes Drag Thousands of Helpless Citizens from Marriages After Obama Drops Defense of Marriage Act
The day they always warned us about has finally arrived…
Reports continue to pour in from around the nation today of helpless Americans being forcibly taken from their marital unions after President Obama dropped the Defense of Marriage Act earlier this week, leaving the institution completely vulnerable to roving bands of homosexuals.
"It was just awful — they smashed through our living room window, one of them said 'I've had my eye on you, Roger,' and then they dragged my husband off kicking and screaming," said Cleveland-area homemaker Rita Ellington, one of the latest victims whose defenseless marriage was overrun by the hordes of battle-ready gays that had been clambering at the gates of matrimony since the DOMA went into effect in 1996.

One of the most fun things about the Internet age–other than funny cat pictures and limitless high-quality on-demand pornography–is the fact that whenever someone on TV makes a joke about a fake website or Twitter account or Facebook group, they inevitably actually create the joke site on the real Internet. So when Jon Stewart mentioned his GayObama Twitter account on last night's Daily Show, about 8000 of you went online to find that the account does indeed exist and is hilarious. If only it somehow also involved funny cat pornography, I could die happy.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11/10c.
